High quality and stable liposomes Research and Development Department of Company W, a cosmetics manufacturer
New liposome method yields 200 trillion per mL
The liposome "ILINPSOME," jointly developed by Nippon Shokubai and Lilac Pharma, is of high quality and stability.
There is no need to add thickeners, and it can be stored at room temperature for over a year, reducing refrigeration costs.
Approximately 200 trillion liposomes are present in 1 mL, providing high permeability.
At that time, one of the members came across a news release about a liposome called "ILINPSOME" that Nippon Shokubai had jointly developed with Lilac Pharma.
Mr. K immediately contacted Nippon Shokubai, and after being introduced to the product by a representative, he immediately realized that this new liposome had great potential.
ILINPSOME is a high-quality liposome made using a new manufacturing method developed by Lilac Pharma, a venture company spun off from Hokkaido University, using the microfluidic device "iLiNP™" technology licensed from the university. This method achieves high liposome stability and eliminates the need for thickeners. It can be stored at room temperature for over a year, and retains the texture of natural liposomes.
"There are approximately 200 trillion liposomes in 1 mL of ILINPSOME, and because the structure is stable, it is able to demonstrate the high permeability inherent to liposomes," says Mr. K.
We immediately received a sample of ILINPSOME from Nippon Shokubai and decided to evaluate it as a skin care serum. As a result, we were able to create a prototype of a revolutionary skin care serum that was rich and moisturizing.
Mr. K felt very positive about this result and decided to join Team B in an internal competition with a project that put ILINPSOME at the forefront.
As a result, Team B won the in-house competition and was selected to commercialize a skin care serum using ILINPSOME.
Mr. K and Team B have now officially launched a development project, and are working with Nippon Shokubai to commercialize a liposome-containing skin care serum.
