Design denitrification equipment and after-sales service Production Technology Department of Company A, a chemical manufacturer
Custom SCR unit based on expertise
Company A, which manufactures a variety of chemical products, was planning to increase production capacity by converting the manufacturing process of one of its production lines. It was discovered that the new manufacturing process would result in gas emissions containing several thousand ppm of nitrogen oxides (NOx), making it necessary to introduce technology to remove high concentrations of NOx. Company A narrowed its search to catalytic denitrification equipment.
Some of Company A's factories are located in areas with very strict environmental regulations. In addition, as the company was promoting initiatives aimed at reducing its environmental impact, the company was seeking to set internal standards that were stricter than the local government's emissions regulations.
Mr. S, head of the Production Technology Department, said the following:
"To meet the standards we set, we needed to introduce denitrification technology with a highly efficient processing capacity, with a removal rate of over 95%," says Mr. S.
"However, we were concerned that the components contained in the exhaust gas might have a negative effect on the performance and lifespan of the de-nitration catalyst installed in the de-nitration equipment. In addition, there was not enough space to install the de-nitration equipment near the manufacturing furnace, and we lacked information on where to install it in the first place, or what the optimal equipment design would be," says Mr. S.
Company A did not have any members with specialized knowledge of denitration equipment, and in-house considerations did not progress very well. Furthermore, considering catalyst replacement and equipment maintenance, the company decided that it would be wise to outsource the work to an equipment manufacturer that could provide solid support, including after-sales service.
Mr. S asked his acquaintances, including those in the equipment industry, to find a manufacturer that could customize, design, and deliver the denitration equipment he wanted, and also provide after-sales support such as catalyst replacement and maintenance, but he was unable to find such a manufacturer and was at a loss.
The gas emitted from the manufacturing furnace using the new method contained high concentrations of NOx, at several thousand ppm.
To meet strict emission standards, a treatment with a removal rate of 95% or more was required.
I wanted to confirm whether any exhaust gas components poison the catalyst.
There was not enough space adjacent to the manufacturing furnace to install the denitrification equipment.
They needed a manufacturer that could provide comprehensive support, from equipment design and delivery to after-sales services such as maintenance.
A member of the Production Technology Department, who had been gathering information on denitrification equipment extensively, found hope in the information on Nippon Shokubai 's website that came up in a web search, and immediately made an inquiry.
"When we asked for advice about the status of our company's facilities and the environmental measures we needed to take, the experienced staff were very helpful and showed us various case studies," says Mr. S.
A track record of highly efficient treatment of high concentration NOx (several thousand ppm), and knowledge of catalyst poisoning
We customize denitration catalysts to suit the characteristics of exhaust gases, and design and manufacture each denitration device individually.
Space-saving equipment design is also possible
We provide support from equipment design and delivery to catalyst replacement and after-sales services such as maintenance.
After asking more details, we learned that Nippon Shokubai has a long track record of delivering denitrification equipment used in power generation facilities, waste incinerators, boilers, and various manufacturing furnaces. Their experienced team, with ample knowledge and know-how, responds to inquiries and requests from a wide range of companies.
We also learned that Nippon Shokubai will customize the high-performance de-nitration catalysts it develops and manufactures in-house to suit the characteristics of exhaust gases, and will design and manufacture the de-nitration equipment to be installed on each individual product, in order to meet the highly challenging individual needs. Furthermore, we learned that they also offer comprehensive after-sales services, such as regular inspections after delivery, catalyst deterioration diagnosis, and catalyst replacement.
The denitrification equipment has a proven track record of efficiently treating high-concentration NOx, such as several thousand ppm, and also possesses technology to suppress the leakage of ammonia used in the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) reaction.Furthermore, the equipment can be designed to save space.
"We felt reassured knowing that they would handle everything from catalyst and equipment design to maintenance. We heard that they had the knowledge and know-how to deal with high-efficiency denitration, ammonia leaks, and catalyst poisoning, so we decided to consult them about our concerns," said Mr. S. Believing that Nippon Shokubai 's denitration equipment would fully meet their company's requirements, they immediately decided to officially request a specification estimate and price quote for the denitration equipment.
Company A is currently preparing a capital investment plan for denitrification equipment in line with Nippon Shokubai 's proposal.
