Furthermore, by adjusting the particle structure and molecular weight, it can be adapted to various temperature ranges and vibration frequencies.

K was intrigued by the low viscosity and vibration damping performance that can be used in a variety of temperature ranges and vibration frequencies, so he immediately contacted Nippon Shokubai and consulted with a sales representative about the issues he was facing.

"Because it has low viscosity, it can also be used as a vibration-damping paint, and it can be applied anywhere. Until then, I had never thought of applying it with paint. What's more, it is VOC-free, so it's also appealing because it takes the working environment into consideration."

When they conducted vibration tests on rubber mats coated with vibration-damping paint prepared using samples obtained by the Product Development Department, they were able to confirm the vibration-damping effect at the target thickness. In addition, by using a low-temperature type of resin, they were able to confirm sufficient vibration-damping effect even under low-temperature storage conditions, which had previously been difficult to achieve.

"When we provided a sample mat we had made to a transport company we use, they gave it high praise, saying, 'We were able to confirm that it suppresses vibrations during transport, and it's thin and easy to install.' Furthermore, the development department at Company S has begun a development project in which they believe this vibration-damping paint can also be used for soundproofing by suppressing vibrations in home appliances and other home applications.
