One day, at an online exhibition attended by one of the members, their eye fell on Nippon Shokubai 's multifunctional hydrophilic fine particles, the RX-6-AQ series.

When I spoke to them at the exhibition booth, I learned that the RX-6-AQ series is a modified acrylic submicron multifunctional hydrophilic particle developed by Nippon Shokubai using their proprietary technology.

The RX-6-AQ series is a nanoparticle with a narrow particle size distribution, which means that its water dispersion viscosity is low and it blends well with various resins. In addition, the fact that the particles dissolve under mild conditions, such as weak alkaline water and room temperature, is also promising as a condition that enables the necessary pore formation.

The team members immediately contacted Nippon Shokubai and explained the situation in detail to the person in charge. They were told that, although it was still in the prototype stage, a similar effect had been confirmed. The R&D department then immediately ordered a sample of the RX-6-AQ series and processed it with the advice of the Nippon Shokubai person in charge. They found that they could expect to achieve the required level of surface roughening.

Currently, the R&D department of Company O is consulting with the R&D department of Nippon Shokubai to consider ways to improve the hydrophilic microparticles in order to achieve the desired level of surface roughness.
