A member of the R&D department visited a cosmetics-related exhibition and learned about a groundbreaking product at Nippon Shokubai booth. The product was "BISHOKUBAI C-KP-61B," a new multifunctional polymer developed by Nippon Shokubai using its proprietary technology. Apparently, this polymer possessed the antibacterial properties that R Company was looking for, so they immediately made an appointment with a sales representative to learn more.

According to a sales representative from Nippon Shokubai, this polymer is hypoallergenic and highly safe because it does not penetrate the skin. It also creates a moisturizing film, exhibiting antibacterial properties and preventing the adhesion of fine particles such as pollen and PM2.5 (anti-pollution). It also has antibacterial effects against dandruff and acne bacteria, and has been shown to inactivate the novel coronavirus (SARS-Cov-2).

The R&D department immediately ordered samples of "BISHOKUBAI C-KP-61B" and began evaluation testing. As expected, the skin care lotion containing this polymer had sufficient antibacterial effects while also being a hypoallergenic product. After application, the moisture content of the skin's stratum corneum increased, and a high moisturizing effect was also confirmed.

"The results of the lab evaluation showed that a skin care lotion containing this polymer not only prevents pollution components from adhering to the skin, but also protects the skin from various external stressors such as environmental bacteria and moisturizes it. I had a feeling this would be a groundbreaking product," said Mr. S.
