Solution Summary

  • AQUALIC™ H from Nippon Shokubai is a high molecular weight polyacrylate that can achieve thickening effects with only a small amount added.

  • Polymerized using our unique polymerization technology, it has little insoluble matter and is highly stable.

Achieves thickening effects with small amounts added thanks to high molecular weight acrylate polymerized using our unique polymerization technology!

Mr. X, who was gathering information about water-soluble polymers with thickening properties, was told by a business partner about Nippon Shokubai 's AQUALIC H. AQUALIC H is a water-soluble polymer that has a high molecular weight, little insoluble content, and excellent stability over time, thanks to polymerization using a unique technology.

Mr. X, who was interested in AQUALIC H, immediately contacted Nippon Shokubai. After discussing his current issues, he learned that AQUALIC H has the following features:
"This polymer is a high molecular weight polyacrylate, so adding a small amount is expected to have a thickening effect. It does not change even when heated, is extremely stable, and there are grades that can be used as food additives, so it is said to be very safe." (Mr. X)

Mr. X immediately requested a sample of AQUALIC H from Nippon Shokubai. When he mixed it with a prototype latex in the laboratory, he confirmed that adding a small amount had a thickening effect and was also stable over time.

We are currently making final adjustments to the formulation in order to conduct pilot testing.
